Breathing Life into Words

As a podcaster & author (Tiny Altars and German Awakening), I explore the intersections of language, creative process & healing. As an editor & creative mentor, I guide real-life writers through their narrative journeys—from inklings to beautiful works.

This memoir journey was a healing journey.

A virtual book launch for Cara Pacific Campbell's Upspiraling: The Ancient Path to Wholeness.

Dear Reader,

A memoir is the culmination of small, profound, courageous acts to heal over several seasons. My very favorite part of my work is that I get to witness that book journey first hand, longitudinally.

My two other favorite parts of this work are:

1) sharing insights about the book writing journey,

AND

2) celebrating with authors whose books are soooo good.

This Friday, I get to celebrate and share insights about the newly-released Upspiraling with Cara Pacific Campbell.

Please join us for her virtual launch party.

Upspiraling, the paperback version, is sitting next to me as I write; I'm preparing to host a behind-the-scenes conversation with Cara. As ever, I'm grateful for her trust at this milestone.

This book means a lot to me too: Cara was the first author to sign up for my Courageous Wordsmith 1:1 Book Writing Mentorship.

This journey was, quite literally, a big healing process.

The resulting book is gorgeous.

You can get Upspiraling in all the formats on Amazon now. Ebooks are only $2.99. Otherwise, Friday's party is FREE.

1 pm Eastern / noon Central / 11 Mountain / 10 Pacific

I'll be asking Cara questions about her book (we'll see where the conversation takes us) and she's answering audience questions. If you've listened to my podcast, this will be like that... but live.

Reply to this email to RSVP and we'll send the link by Friday.

Here's what Cara says:

You know, a strange thing happens when you spend years being “the strong one.” The capable one. The productive one. The one who figures it out no matter what...
Eventually, your nervous system starts sending little signals that something isn’t quite right. You don't feel bad per se, just off.
You can feel successful and deeply disconnected at the same time. Grateful and exhausted. High-performing and quietly unraveling.
Because my battle with chronic Lyme is what started my story, people tend to think Upspiraling is a book about illness.
But it’s not.
It’s about the patterns I found underneath the illness.
The pressure. The striving. The over-functioning. The identity I had built around being impressive, needed, productive, and “good.”
And what happened when I started questioning where I got those patterns and researching the science of how to heal them and show up differently.
The response to the book so far has honestly blown me away.
The messages, the tears, the “holy shit, I thought this was just me” moments…
People are reaching out to tell me that they have already read it multiple time and then immediately lent it to friends to read. 🤯
It’s made me realize just how many of us have been silently carrying these patterns and feeling like we are the only ones...
So, I’d love for you to join me for the online launch party this Friday, May 22 at 1 pm Eastern / noon Central / 11 am Mountain / 10 am Pacific.
We’re going to talk about the book, the deeper story behind it, and what it actually looks like to build a life that feels more aligned and less performative.

Reply to this email to RSVP and I'll let Cara know you're coming.

I hope to see you on Friday.

Travel safely,

Amy
